The Barresi Family-2010We took our first family vacation this year and we went to Destin, Florida! We actually stayed in Inlet Beach, which is about 25 miles east of Destin, maybe even a bit closer to Panama City. In any case, we had a great time and had a gorgeous beach to enjoy! I never knew the US had such amazing beaches. Growing up in MA we had really nice beaches, white(ish) sand and clear water. But the sand was super white in Destin and the water clear and just beautiful!
We went with 4 other families in our neighborhood and shared one, fabulous house! All the kids stayed in the bunk room and slept wonderfully! Drew chose to sleep in our room with us most nights and even so, both our kids did great sleeping the entire trip. We had a big gorgeous kitchen/living area on the second floor with a deck overlooking the ocean. There was a heated pool in our backyard and the beach entrance about a minute walk down the street. Just perfect!

So great! We discovered the "Redneck Riviera" a couple of summers ago and were equally surprised. Love that we have that right here in the US and don't have to give our money to another country to enjoy beautiful beaches!
