A Big Day For Us

Today I attended my first MOPS meeting. Which in turn meant I had to drop Drew off at the nursery for the first time ever. We mentioned it to him on Sunday, but tried not to make too much of it. This morning he was excited to go to "school" although I think he was a little disappointed when he realized he didn't get to take a "yellow school bus". I was feeling nervous about dropping him off but excited too. When we got to the church lobby, he could see all the fun animals painted on the walls and he was excited. When we got to his room he wasn't so excited anymore. I went inside the room with him and was hoping his teacher was going to be more welcoming and friendly than she was. I let him know that I was going to my meeting and I would be back to get him. Gave him a quick kiss and left. He started crying as I stood outside the door. I decided I just needed to walk away. By the time I got to the end of the hallway, he had stopped. I went back to check on him about 5 minutes later and he was sitting on the floor by himself near the door. BREAK MY HEART! But...he wasn't crying so I went back to my meeting. I forgot to drop his sippy cup with him, so without him seeing me, I got to check on him again. He was sitting at the table with the rest of the kids. He wasn't looking too happy, but he was doing ok...When I went to pick him up he said "come see mommy!" and was more excited to see me than he ever has been before :) He was proud of himself and we called daddy on the way home to brag about Drew's first day. he told us, "had snack, color, change diaper". I didn't realize till we got home that they had changed his diaper, I wonder how that went!?!?!?

I am happy that he did pretty well for his first time. I do feel some guilt that I hadn't taken him there before today, and I am also feeling some guilt for his not so friendly teacher. I mean, she works with 2 year olds...how bout some smiles?

3 Months Old!

Dear Sweet Camden,

We have had you in our lives now for 3 whole months. Wow. You are most definitely the light of everyone's eyes in this family! Your big brother loves you to pieces! It is amazingly sweet to watch the two of you together. When you are fussy, he will try to put your paci in for you. The other day you were fussing in your bassinet when we were coming downstairs in the morning. Drew heard you crying and ran in saying "Ca Cam no cry" (his way of saying Camden...so cute!) and he went to sooth you. He came out of the bedroom and you started fussing again, he ran in again saying " Ca Cam no cry" and went to touch and talk to you. What a sweet big bro' you have!
You are the happiest baby I have ever been around. You smile just by us looking at you! Maybe our hopes have come true that you are going to be more laid back like your daddy. Your poor brother has the lack of patience and the temper of mommy!
You still sleep in mommy and daddy's room in your bassinet. You were sleeping in the swing for awhile to help you with your reflux. Now that prevacid has that under control, you are sleeping well in your bassinet and have been since New Year's Eve when we tried it again. You sleep in a little swaddle blanket that velcros on the side. Your blankets were creeping up over your face because you like to move around so much. It feels a little like a straight jacket to mommy, but you must love it because you sleep very peacefully in it. You still wake 1-2 times at night to feed. Drew still nursed in the middle of the night until he was 8 months old, so I will be grateful if you sleep through before that! I am happy right now if you make it past 3am for the first feeding. That way I feel like I have gotten some rest.

Still just breast milk for your diet. In another month or so, we will try cereal. Of course you get your fair share of mylanta for your crazy gas!

We introduced you to the bumbo seat this month, and you seem to enjoy it. Much more so than Drew did for the first time. You are getting very good with your head control and love to look around the room. I think you will be sitting earlier than Drew did. He was closer to 7 months, but I think you will be earlier.
When mommy was about the give you a bath the other night, you almost rolled over on the vanity top! We let your bottom get some air before bath time, because of that crazy diaper rash that mommy is working SO.HARD to get rid of for you.

You are our sweet little angel and we are so lucky to have you in our world!

our little Miss October!

Addictions!

There are a few things I am addicted to right now (besides constant breastfeeding).

Coffee. I never used to be a coffee drinker but since having Camden, Will and I brew a pot each morning. Now I can't seem to go a morning without my cup of joe!

Facebook...A couple of friends sent me a link to view their facebook account and I always ignored the invite. I was already a blogger and didn't need another site to keep up with. Well, a neighbor just sent me an invite and I knew there would be pictures of her newly born baby boy! I thought I would log in "just to see" what it was all about. WELL...now I am addicted to checking my facebook account too. There are SOOO many people on there from high school that I haven't talked to in YEARS!

As if I need more distractions to take up my afternoons, ahhhhh!

I am still addicted to taking pictures, so here are a few recent ones I took of Drew on the front porch.
