Mother's Day

Mother's day this year definitely beat last year's. Last year Drew was only 6 1/2 months old and we spent that weekend with a sick child. He would.not.sleep in his crib. Will and I took turns sleeping with him on the couch for two nights. Monday morning we learned that he had an ear infection. His first illness, his first ear infection, and it was.not.fun! We were supposed to meet the VanEpps' and Yanelli's at the Arboretum for lunch but we kept our sick baby home.

This year we all had breakfast together, french toast...yum! After Drew's nap we went on a family picnic to the Grapevine Botanical Gardens. It was such a treat to be able to use Drew's nap time to shower leisurely and not have to prepare a single thing for lunch. Will packed homemade chicken salad sandwiches with grapes for me, my favorite! He had chocolate covered strawberries and lots of other great snacks. We enjoyed some beautiful weather. So beautiful I didn't realize my legs were getting fried in the sun. Thank goodness we were smart enough to get Drew sun blocked early. It was a really nice day. I love being a mom to this little guy and little girl on the way!
